The peanut is a one-year or biennial herbaceous plant of the family Kyamoeidon (Fabaceae). The genus groundnut (scientific nominal Arachis) includes nine species in total, with more representative groundnut the basement or common peanut (in Cyprus called foustoukoudi).
Grown extensively in India and African countries mainly for the seeds of which contain oil.
